Girl Power in Post Production!
Two thumbs up on the mix stage with our Supervising Sound Editor /sound guru Victoria Rose Sampson (who has over 150 sound credits including SPEED, DONNIE DARKO and even RETURN OF THE JEDI) and Mixer Lisa Baro (pictured), who is one of just a handful of female mixers in the film & TV industry. Go go girl power!

Pre-Mix=No Sleep for me!
I thought I'd turn over all the sound files on Monday for the
PreMix this week. But instead each reel has taken a full day to prepare
and output all the elements for FX, BGs, Foley and Music! So I finish a
reel, turn it over to sound, and then race to finish the next reel in
time for the next day's session. All the while Vickie (my supervising sound editor) is doing the same
for the Dialogue and ADR. Five reels in five days (which is CRAZY fast.)
Finished reel 5 prep last night. I'm beat. After the PreMix is done,
we'll see exactly what we need to do for the Final mix. 6:22am and
already exhausted. This is my awesome ADR supervisor, sound editor and recordist and pre-sound mixer Felix! He's the best!

Matt's ICG Magazine at Sundance 2012
Greetings from Park City Utah. I'm here at the Sundance Film Festival and look what I found! The 4-pg article my husband Matthew Irving wrote for January/Sundance edition
of ICG Magazine! (And it has 3 photos from ODD BRODSKY in it!) Editions of the magazine are being given away at all the festival venues. Feels like a good sign. Way to go Matt! Here's a PDF of the article: http://www.freedreampictures.com/press/ICGjanuary2012.pdf

The Bleedy
It was so much fun getting the official statue and walking the red carpet at Bleedfest! MORBID CURIOSITY had won the Audience Award in December, but the statue had not arrived from the artist overseas. It's a gorgeous piece of art called the Inanna, which is named after the Goddess of art and war!

LIFE IN A DAY at Sundance
On July 24, 2010, more than 80,000 clips were submitted to this documentary project from 192 countries that added up to 4,500 hours of video! Clips were narrowed down from there to make a 90 minute documentary called LIFE IN A DAY, that premiered at Sundance! Remember my blog post last July? Matt and I had submitted footage and and it made the final cut! It was a lot of fun to see the movie in a packed 1200 seat theater at the Eccles! And the next day we learned that National Geographic is picking the movie and it will be released in theaters on July 24, 2011 --exactly 1 year after the day we all shot it.

Morbid Curiosty and Stalked at Bleedfest
We had a blast at the AWESOME Bleedfest Film Festival, which was founded by the super-talented Elisabeth Fies & Brenda Fies. They invited MORBID CURIOSITY to screen and we were just thrilled to win the audience award! We also previewed a sneak peak of a work-in-progress of STALKED (the short we made in NYC) and the audience LOVED it! It could not have gone better. They laughed at all the right places. Great festival. They are trying to raise money to keep it going. If you can help, please donate here.
